What are the Terms and Conditions of hire?
Deposit and Balance
Reservations are not confirmed until the agreed deposit is received.
Deposits are non refundable
Balance payments must be made in full, 1 week prior to the wedding date if by cheque or credit/debit card, or at the time and place of the first pick up on the wedding day, if by cash
Cancellation of vehicle hire must be made in writing.
A sum equivalent to 50% of the hire fee will be payable if cancellation is made within 1 month of the wedding date.
Journey Details and Changes
Journey details will be agreed verbally, and confirmed in writing at the time of booking. After this point any changes to either timings, locations, or contact telephone numbers, should be advised in writing to Home James, at least 1 week before the wedding date.
The standard hire periods are for either 1 hour or 3 hours, from the time of arrival at the first pick up point to the time of drop off at the last drop off point, unless otherwise agreed at the time of booking and stated on the booking confirmation.
Additional hire is at the discretion of the chauffeurs, and at a rate to be agreed by the chauffeurs. Any additional hire fees are payable on the wedding day.
Agreement to additional hire may not be possible if the vehicle is due to continue to a subsequent reservation.
Damage to Vehicles
The client named on the booking confirmation, accepts responsibility for the conduct of all passengers, and after being presented with written and/or photographic evidence, agrees to compensate ‘Home James' for
- Damage to vehicles, caused by passengers
- The removal of any items from the vehicles ie C.Ds, floral arrangements, champagne glasses
- Vehicle valeting, deemed necessary due to the action of passengers
- Loss of revenue, if vehicles are unfit for subsequent hire, due to the actions of passengers.
In the unlikely event of vehicle breakdown, Home James will (time permitting) make every effort to secure a replacement vehicle, either from their own fleet, or from that of another company.
If a replacement vehicle is supplied, which varies from the type reserved, a discount of fees payable, will be agreed. If a replacement vehicle cannot be supplied, a full refund of fees, will be made.
Home James make every possible provision for ensuring that agreed timings are adhered to. However no compensation will be made for late journeys, which are beyond the reasonable control of Home James, or which are a result of passengers not adhering to recommended journey start times.
Clothing and other Articles
Home James cannot be held responsible for loss of, or damage to, clothing and other articles, either during or after the hire period
Home James are committed to ensuring that all passengers enjoy their wedding day journeys, however the chauffeurs reserve the right to terminate any journey if they deem the conduct of any passenger to be either abusive, potentially hazardous to himself or other passengers, to be at risk of causing damage to the vehicles,
or to be of an illegal nature.
